Clavin here serves up the life story of Henry Morton Stanley, perhaps one of the most colorful characters of the late 19th and early 20th Century. Yes, this is the same English fellow who uttered the phrase, "Livingstone, I presume," and was portrayed by Spencer Tracy in a famous movie about the encounter. But Stanley was also a noted journalist, parliamentarian, the creator of the myth of "Wild Bill Hickock," and, perhaps most extraordinarily, a soldier in the Confederate army, the Union army, and the Union navy.
