Kid Curry is a minor character in the film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, but was a full fledged outlaw with a fascinating--and dizzying chronicle of robberies and shootings to his name--despite that brief introduction in the movie. Clavin here writes about the man's career as a criminal and downright "bad guy." It's fascinating stuff.
I have some family history about Kid Curry. My Grandmother, Emma Agnes Messier, as a child, about 11 years old recalled when Kid Curry changed horses at her parents place on the south side of the Missouri River in the UL Bend area. This story was told to her grandson, Bobby Beard, and told to me in 2013. My Dad, George W. Tripp also told about when he was a kid, he and his cousin Jack Foster would ride out to Benzien to get the mail, and then on the way home they liked to go snoop around Kud Curry’s cabin. I’m not very good with technology. I wrote another post as well, but don’t know if they went through.
Tom, thank you for responding to my comments. I’m curious why Kid Curry’s hideout cabin is not mentioned in your excellent book “Bandit Heaven” ? Curry Coulee is named after him.

Oh the twisted trails they ride, when hopelessly trying to save their hides.

Thank you. Snooping around that cabin must have been fun!
